Michigan candidate says he tells daughters to ‘lie back and enjoy’ if rape is inevitable
A Michigan Republican said he tells his daughters to “lie back and enjoy it” if rape is inevitable in remarks that drew harsh backlash from party leaders Tuesday.
Robert “RJ” Regan, who is running for a state House seat, made the comments on a Sunday Facebook livestream hosted by a conservative group.
Regan used the crude analogy while telling another participant that it was not too late to decertify the 2020 presidential election, saying he facetiously tells his daughters: “Well if rape is inevitable, you should just lie back and enjoy it.”
The Kent County candidate — who won a four-way special election to snag the Republican nomination for the seat last week — also recently said that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine was a “fake war just like the fake pandemic.”

However, it sounds like he was mocking anyone saying that, as an analogy to accepting the fraudulent election.

Per the writer's own words, these two sentences mean exact opposites with regard to the usage of the badly selected analogy. The author is trying to hide the sarcastic nature of the comment, hoping that no one will know what 'facetiously' means.
However, using this as the analogy was absolutely the wrong thing to do, IMO.

YES I remember that! I was watching him on TV when he said that, I couldn’t believe it. Right after a report on rape he said “Confucius says if rape is inevitable, lie back and enjoy it”...You could see his career entirely evaporate in mere seconds. I heard later he was drunk and had a drinking problem. Talk about self sabotage and BTW he died not long after that only in his 50s
