To: I want the USA back
I have found that the little Grundig, Sony, etc are not very sensitive and have terrible tuning facilities. The tuning knobs are small and aren't geared very low for good selectivity. They also don't have a BFO for tuning CW.

What is a good AM/FM/SW portable radio?

Do the digital tuners work better?

Honestly, go to eBay and pick up a Sony IFC 2010. Long out of production, this is the absolute best portable AM/FM/SW radio ever made. Nothing on the market today even approaches it’s SW performance. If you want something a little larger, and a joy to tune, get an old Yaesu FR-7, affectionately known to those who’ve owned one as the legendary Frog-7.
