My frost date is May 10 but I'm getting geared up now to plant spring stuff that doesn't mind the cold - lettuce, peas, spinach, onions, etc.

Probably a good idea to go buy seeds right now, even for those warm weather crops.

Absolutely. If possible, buy non-GMO organic seeds. That way you can collect and save some of the seeds from your crop to use as seed for next season. Seeds from the GMO ones may or may not produce.
