I seem to recall places like that being featured in the movie “Flashdance”. I went through the airport in Pittsburgh on the way to and from Nashville and it had all sorts of nice stores and shops.
In pre TSA days when passengers could be accompanied by friends and family to the gate, Pittsburgh international airport was consistently voted among the best in the country for these amenities. Pennsylvania still has no sales tax on clothing or candy, so it is still pretty good for passengers who arrive and depart though, sadly, the hours and number of shops are much reduced due to the reduction in traffic that the TSA and their asinine rules have caused.
OTOH, the TSA isn't stocked with Muslims and affirmative action hires like Philadelphia, Detroit and other airports around the country most Freepers could name.
