In terms of “coolness”, Facebook is the new AOL. Most self-respecting youngsters avoid it. It’s your parents posting cat pictures and what they had for dinner. Very uncool.

Facebook may have had solid financials but most of their revenues came from advertising dollars.

As their user base declines, advertisers will find Facebook less appealing and move their dollars to "hotter" platforms such as Instagram and Tik-Tok, where the more desirable demographics are flocking to.

I would guess that over time, the remaining Facebook users will be mostly the "granny" crowd, older people who are not up with the latest trends and feel comfortable on the familiar Facebook - that their children set them up on 20 years ago - where they can share recipes and photos of grandkids. This demographic will not be as appealing to advertisers and so Facebook will continue to crater.

Also, nobody seems to like Mark Zuckerberg. Not even the young kids. He's just a creepy guy and there are now many alternatives for social media presence and building a following.

Maybe Truth Social can also take a bite out of Facebook once they get their platform together (I'm still on their waitlist!)

Looks as though the “young” prefer the Chinese connection.

I’m not liking that.

Full disclosure...I never joined any Social Media...including Twitter.

And I do not feel deprived. What turned me off, partially,is when my friends started taking pictures of what they ordered in restaurants, and posting it.
