I think sometimes people get so caught up in the beltway battles that they forget that other people have agency too. Putin has agency, the people of Ukraine have agency. They are not holograms created and projected by players in the beltway.

They are fighting for their self-government. If they ask for weapons to help them fight to survive, why wouldn’t the US and Europe supply them? The US has supplied dozens of countries around the world with weapons, including military aircraft, and Ukraine actually needs these weapons at the moment more than these other countries.
