Her character was the one that the alien egg-heads described as having "strong female drives" LOL.

Since Pike was supposed to choose between here and Number One (played by Gene Roddenberry's wife), I've often wondered if Roddenberry threw that line in to poke fun at his wife. LOL

That is a very catty thought. Wow, but it sure matches Roddenberry’s sense of humor.

The “Keeper” (the main Telosian) was played by a woman, Meg Wyllie. The other two main Telosian’s were played by woman as well (but voiced by male actors).

Perhaps but one slight flaw. Gene Roddenberry was married to someone else at the time. According to wiki (I know) he was in a dual cheating relationship with Barrett and Uhura at the time but had set up living with Barrett while the show was made. Uhura (Nichelle Nichols) dropped out of the relationship and Roddenberry eventually divorced his first wife in 1969 and then married Barrett. When that pilot was made they were probably “dating”
