Yiyiyi! I was wondering how they built it in the first place. I assume the bricks were carried up the stairs less than a dozen at a time, or whatever one very strong person can carry. Can there even be running water there? How did they get the stove and the washing machine up there? It’s either not real or it’s a wonder of the world on a pyramid scale. There are several large fissures in the outcrop and it doesn’t look stable to me. I’d love to have a quick tour but wouldn’t like to sleep there.

You just haven't seen the elevator on the other side.
I did a teeny research. I think there are many caves on some of these cliffs where hermits lived. I want to say they were unified in the 1400s? They are quite remarkable!
Mainly this is a reminder to me to look these up more thoroughly.
I’m curious to how they live. I think the hermits relied on the villages to feed them?
When we lived in Pt. Loma, at the end of this peninsula in San Diego, there was a house for sale we looked at that was on a steep hill, garage under the house...and literally a pully and basket for groceries, etc. Nope nope nope lol.
