RUSSIA RELEASES BIZARRE VIDEO OF SPACE STATION BREAKING APART

It was only weeks ago that Rogozin threatened to smash the US with debris from a defunct ISS by detaching the Russian segment, which SpaceX CEO Elon Musk responded to with his own company’s logo and a promise to keep the huge craft aloft. This time, it’s not clear if Rogozin is threatening to bring the ISS down into the atmosphere or just remove the Russian portion and fly solo.

This is hardly the first time the chief of Roscosmos, which is essentially the Russian equivalent of NASA, has tossed insults and threats NASA’s way. Rogozin is also quite the colorful character, having taken it personally when SpaceX ended US reliance on Russian spacecraft to reach the ISS. There’s also, you know, that time Russia accidentally spun the ISS around — twice.

Despite the conflict, though, NASA has tried to keep the relationship stable. The organization released a statement after Russia’s ISS threat back in February, according to ScienceAlert.com

“[NASA] continues working with all our international partners, including the State Space Corporation Roscosmos, for the ongoing safe operations of the International Space Station,”

If it dissapeared tomorrow, would anyone really care, other than 4th grade science clases that got selected to send science experiments up to it?

Why is NASA in space. Everyone knows it has been repurposed to reach out to Muslim nations and Russia is not Muslim.

Certainly the people making a living as workers, and the corporations making a profit on support and maintenance of the station would care.

I think we need re-usable rockets as ubiquitous as airplanes are today and a moon base that works like a sea port.
Next step.

We need somewhere to put the Muslims. Space seems like a good idea.

Checking Freerepublic for any news is useful, short of that mushroom cloud in the sky.

The space station is one of the only bits of leverage Putin has on America. It’s a weak stick, but expect Russia to try to use it as much as they can.

I don't speak Russki, but the video looks like a simulation of the Russians undocking their Russian module from the ISS, and the Russian Mission Control Center cheering it on.

Taking their toys and going home.

Space is the military “High Ground”...

But of course the brilliant US built the space station (yes in was just us first)

Then invite the so call inInternational community on board and change the name to the ISS International Space Station

Then invite the Russian on board

THEN Abandon are man flight capabilities to to get into space and have to rely on the Russians to get there....and effectively give the Russian control over it...brilliant...this last part was another Obama move

Who is the current crew of ISS? Any Russians?

I think they will be sleeping in the air lock from here on out.
