I miss Catfish House so much. Fried pickles are a Texas treat.

Everything in that picture is wrong. Whoever wrote that is misguided.

Sushi? Check for hooks before you bite. We use that crap for bait.

Isn't that dispenser in the sun all day?

I think so but that should help keep the sushi warm........

When I lived in Austin many years ago the place I worked had a guest who wanted sushi. We took them to a place near the main drag by UT Austin. Sorry I cant tell you about the food, I had a burger.

I like the dip fish only idea.
Way better than dunking rice into the sauce.

And some of the very best deep sea shrimp ever. Huge and fresh. We had a french trained cook from Ivory Coast that made them with the best Creole type sauce ever.

Ate at Kyoto in Bastrop. Very good. Thanks to the few who were polite.

You are coming to Texas and want to eat dead fish on rice?
And in Texas’s most liberal city?

Ginza Japanese Restaurant on San Felipe in Houston is the best sushi near Austin. Plus, there is no chance you accidentally get any Marxism on ya while eating there.

For Japanese, I like Osaka in Cedar Park, aka Osaka Mansun. If not sushi or sashimi, Pork Bulgogi Bento. ( I usually get lunch specials.)

For Thai, Soup A ( Thom Yum Gai?j at Thai Kitchen on Guadalupe.

For Chinese, Chinatown on MoPac and China Cafe in Cedar Park. Chinatown is fancy. Good lunch specials.p both places.

That suggestion to get Texas BBQ is also a good idea. Either County Line ( the lake or the hill).

Hope you enjoy!
