Video suggests Russian advance forces at Hostomel were annihilated last night. Half of them don't appear to even have been able to dismount from their vehicles. When entire platoons get wiped out it's going to be hard for Russians to spin to families that the war is going well.

The Ukrainian air force was basically taken out on the first day. Their radar was gone. If they’re flying its a Helen Keller operation. When your air force is gone you’re done. You cannot fly cover for your ground operation. The Russians own the skies. That means they easily protect their ground convoys. If you are seeing burned out columns of vehicles on the road they’re Ukrainian. See how that works? 🙄

I am rooting for the Ukrainians as I rooted for the Israelis in 1967 and 1973 and the Croatians in 1993. Putin may be demented, I don’t know. But I highly distrust the U.S. government after a long string of foreign disasters since V-J Day, from our failure to win in Korea to our abandonment of Americans, allies, and equipment in Afghanistan. I also distrust NATO. I don’t reject the theory that the Western nations’ leadership may want this war as much as Putin does, to distract from domestic problems and to impose more restrictions on personal and economic freedoms.

What I don’t like is a big country run by thugs and criminals attacking a smaller, weaker neighbor even if it, too, is run by thugs and criminals. This ain’t 1938. We simply can’t allow it.
If Russia succeeds in conquering Ukraine, which I seriously doubt they’ll be able to do long term, then China will move on Taiwan. That’s when the real fun will start.
