But such a thing must be done without any outside armies interfering, as was done in Czechoslovakia’s case.
Russia can say they're siding with the separatists in the eastern areas of Ukraine. America might not be here today if France hadn't chosen to get involved militarily in support of some separatists. Do you believe the only legitimate way for America to win it's independence was to fight the entirety of the British empire on it's own with no outside military support?
You make a fair point. But it’s one that must be applied VERY sparingly. After all, their are ethnic Germans in Poland who wish to be free from Polish control.
And their are ethnic Hungarians in Romania who wish to be free from Romanian control. (I am related to some of those Hungarians, by the way. They are VERY resentful of the position the Treaty of Trianon put them in.)
Etc.
Should we just accept endless wars of liberation?
