I am sorry for your family’s loss. Our son just started his Physician Assistant program in August of 2020 and was required to get a vaccination. I could not talk him out of it since he had been determined to go into this profession since his junior year in high school. So far no problems but I worry about his health going forward. I would urge him to absolutely not get any boosters. I've seen some indication that people overcome the initial shot, but after the boosters, it seems to get out of control.
