I agree. The question remains though how does anyone fall back to before hostilities with what has been done. Puta (sic) is not going to just go quietly into the night unless someone pulls him out of his office which has virtually zero chance of happening. Off top of head cannot recall any dictator who started a war simply saying OK you got me, we give up, end of story. So, short of stabbing the puny dictator, how does this end abruptly.

That is what the negotiating table was supposed to be in the first pace.
The United States should have tried to stop war by negotiating along with Ukraine.
The US was saying no and discouraging (maybe even bullying) Zelensky to not sit down and negotiate.
