I believe Putin is ill with an unnamed disease (cancer?) and that is why he is so deathly afraid of the Covid virus as he thinks he could die because his immune system is compromised. His new chipmunk cheeks are indicative of treatments he is receiving for some unknown illness. Putin fears for his own mortality.
