“So if you refuse to take a low-end job you’re standing up for yourself but when a Millennial does the same it’s because s/he has a “dead butt”?
I swear sometimes the jokes about Boomers’ double standards write themselves.”
This “boomer” started washing dishes at his dad’s restaurant when he was 12 years old. My social security wage records start when I was 13. At 18 I enlisted in the Navy and retired at 20 years. Then I worked in the private sector for 21 years before really retiring. Us boomers took low end jobs when it was our time to take low end jobs. Now I’m enjoying the fruits of my 50 years of productive work and I will not return to a low end job. It sounds like it may be your turn for that.
Millennials who work low-wage jobs are called useless slackers while those who are moving on to better things are called entitled for not working those same low-wage jobs. Those are the double standards to which I was referring. There is simply no pleasing some people.
