The normal setting works very well
Cast iron skillets traditionally are not scrubbed cleaned and run through a dishwasher. That destroys the seasoning thin layer of baked on oil that makes it non-stick.
I’m not an expert. You can Google/Youtube “care of cast iron frying pans”.
But your pan, while it may look clean, is likely going to burn food, and is not being used as meant to be used. It’s your pan, yes, and if you want to even scour with a brillo pad and soap, go right ahead. My mother-in-law did that only once to one of my favorite skillets; after yelling at her, she has been banned from my kitchen, at least twenty years.
Her defense was, she was an orphaned child, and her momma didn’t raise her right.
