This is THE question and people on both sides are avoiding this.
*It was noted early on that the Russkies did NOT have a proper logistics train, did NOT appear to have requisite fuel/medical support in place.
*They apparently did not count on such resistance. Call it a “reverse Napoleon.”
That is why I posed it to my fellow Freepers. I have not heard anyone in the gubmint or news address this.
