The husband of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins has said he was “so angry” that actor Alec Baldwin denied responsibility for her death after Baldwin shot her during the filming of the Western “Rust.”
In his first interview since filing a wrongful death lawsuit against Baldwin and about two dozen other defendants last week, Matt Hutchins was asked if he had watched Baldwin’s December interview with ABC News in which the actor said he was not responsible for Halyna’s death.
“I was just so angry to see him talk about her death so publicly, in such a detailed way and then to not accept any responsibility after having just described killing her,” Hutchins said in a clip aired on Wednesday from a Today program interview.

Really?
Remember when he was hugging Baldwin?
Well, in all UNfairness, it was apparently a stunt hand that pulled the trigger. Someone should stop by the newly acquired property in Vermont and talk to arec barwin.
It would seem to me numerous people are responsible.
Yeah, Really.
I agree, the group may include Matt Hutchins.
Matt Hutchins still can’t accept that his wife worked in the entertainment industry which is filled with narcissists who are mentally incapable of admitting fault.
Yes.
People are in a fog when they lose a loved one.
“numerous people are responsible”
“filing a wrongful death lawsuit against Baldwin and about two dozen other defendants last week”
Sure looks like it.
Baldwin being not just an actor on the set but also the films producer makes him in an ever tighter spot IMO.
And I suspect that ill-advised interview he gave will be red meat for a sharp lawyer.
You got that right.
RE: “It would seem to me numerous people are responsible.”
Yep. Starting whomever allowed actors to be within 5 miles of a firearm and live ammunition.
I read a statement from one Hollywood armorer who more or less said that most actors are too stupid to be around firearms
It’s not like most people haven’t known what a lousy p.o.s. Alec Baldwin is, and has always been for decades. This guy shouldn’t be surprised.
OK, ... pretty much all of 'em.
I can’t stand Baldwin, really can’t - but unless this husband is suggesting that Baldwin himself replaced the blanks with real bullets himself, I am having a hard time seeing how he is to blame. He is in actor, he doesn’t necessarily know how to handle a gun and probably couldn’t even tell the difference between a blank and a live round anyway.
Someone is surely to blame for this, but my own two cents is it isn’t Baldwin, unless there is evidence I don’t know about.
What did he expect?
Yep.
Beats me.
