It’s WAY more than people spending on a cup of coffee.
That last time we played the inflation game was the late 70’s early 80’s.
To cure it, interest rates skyrocketed and did a huge amount of damage to our economy .
Yes inflation is a big deal. It may have a soft landing , but a big chance it won’t .
A lot of people have a lot of money to piss away on something that no rational person would define as a necessity of life.

I remember living through those times very well. We managed, just as people generally learn to do.
I'm thinking that you're one of the people who could benefit greatly from learning to appreciate the wisdom of a quote from Mark Twain: "I am an old man and have known a great many troubles, but most of them never happened."
BTW, it looks like the value of the stocks I hold ended up quite a bit today. It seems like hours ago that you were all upset about how the invasion would affect the stock market. Whether the market moved up or down today, and what it does tomorrow, or next week, or next month. or over the next few years doesn't affect what I think. I doubt that my day-to-day, month-to-month, year-to-year life would be affected by it either way. My goal is to live solely on my Social Security checks, and only spend about 2/3 of that, saving the other 1/3. There's no guarantee on that of course. The only thing you can know for sure about the future is that it will be different than you expect.
