As backlash grows against so-called “diversity” programs in public schools, some districts throughout the country have been canceling plans to implement such programs.
According to ABC News, one such program was in Colorado Springs School District 11, a district that serves over 26,000 students. In May of 2020, shortly after the accidental fentanyl overdose death of George Floyd in police custody in Minneapolis, the district was among the first in the nation to push for an “equity policy.”
The board at the time unanimously approved the policy, which was to be crafted and led by the district’s Equity Director Alexis Knox-Miller. The policy would, among other things, force students to learn about “the impact of systemic inequities on teaching and learning.”
But in December of 2021, Knox-Miller announced that the policy would be abandoned after the most recent school board election saw conservative candidates take the majority, with most of them running on a platform of opposition to any such “diversity” measures.
Another district that saw a similar cancellation was Pennridge, Pennsylvania. After the district attempted to create its own “diversity, equity, and inclusion” initiative, five Republican candidates were elected to the board in November, creating a new majority that opposed any such measures. One of the candidates who was defeated, Adrienne King (D-Penn.), was one of the chief architects of the plan.
In Southlake, Texas, the Carroll Independent School District saw a conservative majority take the board in the most recent elections, and subsequently repealed previous plans to implement a “cultural competency action plan.” The new majority also disbanded the district’s “diversity council.”
These and other developments reflecting a growing trend in American politics regarding any such “diversity” measures in public schools, most of which can be traced back to the far-left concept of “Critical Race Theory:”

As conservatives take over school boards in “red” areas, I wonder how long until the glaring failure of the marxist indoctrination schools will become apparent?
We had a “Challenge Day” planned for last week. The school sent out emails and text messages to all parents, students and staff that it was cancelled.... Which was odd because with other programs we never call stakeholders about cancelling. The school district completely omitted to parents whtit was about.
We need to stop paying these groups with public money. Once they stop getting their $8,000 to $10,000 per program, they will start to disapeer. I can’t believe our school gets away with spending money on this crap.
I think this development is a good sign it’s becoming apparent.
After sensible people regain the school boards they should put in place 3 things immediatel (after getting rid of the masks and say no-thank-you to the dept of ed):
1) Only teach reading-writing-arithmetic and civics. Basic stuff.
2) Immediately put cameras (several) in each classroom. WITH sound capabilities.
3) Get rid of any teacher who wants to abuse our kids or SHARE their sexuality in the classroom. If we have to hire moms and dads with some sense. They teach everyday anyway. Learning to teach is not the issue. Teaching basics to make our kids learn how to learn and grow and prepare for a good life is.

Purge as many RINOs as possible and take over the Senate and House with their MAGA replacements. Rinse and repeat every 2 years. It's the only way we get our country back.

I realize that people here who send their kids to public schools (usually to maintain their well-deserved ‘lifestyle’), will ignore me (because they must), but nothing is being ‘cancelled’, it’s just being pushed underground as the people who are being told not to do it are not about to listen and they rightly have no fear of punishment.
There are two ways to actually CANCEL ‘diversity’ programs (either would work):
1. Real-time monitoring of classrooms and common areas, with video and microphones, coupled with laws and policies against CRT.
2. Wholesale firing of anyone with an ‘Education’ degree, again with the appropriate laws/policies in place.
I see DeSantis (but no one else) pushing somewhat for #1 (good luck!) but no movement on #2. So CRT is not going anywhere, whether we like it or not.
And for those familiar with Whole Language reading...same thing. The TOTALLY DISCREDITED method never went away, it’s just called ‘Sight Words’ now.
That is a good sign that people are not going “woke” , but actually getting the wake up call. Hope this spreads hurriedly.

they should all drop that BS, stick to teaching real subjects, and bring back vocational training.

Uh, high school seniors are reading at an elementary school level. Tyrone is headed to college and still can't add fractions, but thank goodness, he can hit free throws 70% of the time.
