Ukraine is declining even faster.
Ukraine is disappearing, for two reasons. It has one of the world’s lowest birth rates at just 1.23 children per female, and one of the world’s highest rates of out-migration. No other country has willed itself out of existence so decisively. It left the Soviet Union with about 50 million people, and 30 years later, The Ukraine National Academy of Science’s Institute for Demography puts the present Ukrainian population at just 35 million
I don’t know if any nation is able to manage population decline very effectively.
Some countries, such as Japan, are also seeing poopulation potentially decline severely in decades ahead.
So would America, except for so many immigrants coming to America.
I think part of it, is that with birth control choices available nowadays, many women choose to have fewer children than they otherwise would have.
Everyone think about your own lives at the anecdotal evidence. How many in your family or social circle, had 3 or more children 50 years ago? How many in your family or social circle have more than 2 children nowadays?
