Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) showed a five-point lead over Democrat Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke in a hypothetical head-to-head gubernatorial poll from Climate Nexus.
The poll found that 45 percent of the registered Texas voters surveyed said they would vote for Abbott, five percent more than would vote for the Democrat.

Not only that but he had a blue wave tsunami at his back in 2018 and still lost.
They’re like locusts. They devour everything then move on to a nicer place.
I hope so.
I brought up, on another thread, how nice it would be if Conservatives were to make living in an town/city/county so unbearable for liberals that they’d be forced to move. I figured laws like asking everyone to open carry, US flags on every pole, Christmas decorations everywhere, etc etc.
Someone responded...put This Is Trump Country signs in the windows of every business.
Give supporters of President Trump a discount at checkout. Anything to make them move back to where they came.
Of course, the easiest one would be(and I know it could be illegal), if you already live someplace, especially if you’re born and raised, your property taxes are fixed. Only the newcomers pay the increases. Make it completely unaffordable.
Maybe places like Boise can try that. Force the liberals back to California and Seattle.
Yes.
“5 points is weak for Abbot.”
That’s was my impression, too. Only up 5 points? In Texas?! That does not bode well.
The poll is either heavily weighted “D” or the influx of Californians is beginning to shift towards Democrats.
Absolutely....
Imagine a town where there is little to no crimes, low taxes, good schools, no issues...once the move in all of that is gone, gone, gone.
The first few will come in and not say a word, loving the low crime, low taxes and good schools. But, eventually one or two will show up. Quietly taking advantage of the same but being disgusted and triggered by the American flags hanging in the town square, the 4th of July parade, Homecoming being a town event, Friday night football, the Nativity during Christmas and folks being nice to each other.
All of that must be destroyed.
Says it all.... https://www.wonkette.com/federalist-guy-did-not-move-to-tennessee-to-live-with-a-bunch-of-liberal-colonizers
I was planning on moving to Greenville, SC or surrounding area. There was a thread on here a while back. City council is all Liberals and the place is becoming “not so good”. Gee, I wonder what the common denominator is.
I hope I’m wrong but I think that the American people will be generally disappointed in the predicted red wave this November election.
I don’t think you’re wrong, but I hope we’re both as wrong as any two people can be in thinking the RED TSUNAMI may not amount to much. Especially if all the incumbents are sent back.
That being said, I didn’t even know that Goehmert was running for AG, but I did see that he isn’t fairing so well. If that’s any indication as to what Texas wants, Paxton over Goehmert, I think that’s pretty telling.
Thanks
But the D election theft machine still had tons of money and thousands of “operatives” —
And they still lost all major state wide elections.
This is effectively the property tax policy in California. The valuation is locked in at the time you buy, but new buyers pay based on the price when the buy.
This was passed by popular vote in the late 70s, when California was more conservative (Texas was solidly Dem at the time). Let that be a warning who take Texas for granted, the demographics and politics of states shift over time.
Abbott is a weak RINO.
All
I’m saying is that the DNC election theft machine could overcome a five point lag in the polls — bears careful watching
They couldn't in previous state wide elctions. Even before the tough new anti ballot fraud laws.
They will not now under the tough new ballot laws.
The majority of Registered Voters are Dems. Therefore, polls of Registered Voters always overstate support for the Dem candidates, and the media always use this to portray the republicans as losing. For the Dems to be trailing in a RV poll now means Boo Hoo for Beato. Wait for polls of Likely Voters.
Veto was better!!!
I hope you, and the others on here that commented more positive information, are 100% right.
The demographic shifts, with regards to voting and political leanings are destroying the South, Midwest and a few other states.
I know it can’t be stopped, per se, but rolling out the welcome mat for jobs that don’t go to the locals doesn’t seem like a winning recipe to me. Especially when all that happens is higher taxes, more congestion, and everything else bad when liberals move into an area.
the morons who are wringing their hands and clutching their pearls here apparently never bothered to note that this “poll” was conducted by an uber-far-left-international-kommie outfit called climatenexus:
a 5 point lead for abbott by THIS outfit probably means a 15 or 20 point lead for abbot in reality ...
OK....dumbass....no one is a moron or clutching their pearls over this poll.
A simple comment stating something like: hey everyone, I live here. The poll was conducted by an uber-far-left-international-kommie outfit called climatenexus. I wouldn’t put too much weight into it. They’re about as biased as they can be. Given that, reality is, Abbott is probably up by at least 15pts.
But, that’s impossible for you.
On a side note, one shouldn’t discount the information. As more and more companies move to Texas, with its welcome mat still there, especially all the liberal tech companies and start ups moving to Austin, folks need to start paying attention. As I’m sure you know, all it takes is for the populations in the big cities...Austin, Dallas, San Antonio, El Paso to gain a decent advantage over all the other counties and Texas is toast.
Just like California, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Michigan, Illinois, NY, NJ, Virginia, North Carolina, and Wisconsin....and coming soon, unless the legislatures care and wake up - Tennessee, Georgia, Idaho and possibly SC. All those states are controlled by a handful of cities that rule the roost.
