The ship's owner is arranging an oceangoing tug, but Portuguese navy spokesman Cmdr. José Sousa Luís said the ship is unlikely to be towed to a port in the Azores because of its size, the AP reported.Huh. I woulda guessed because it's on fire.

It will be interesting to red the report on what went wrong. I wonder if it was one of the cars or something with the ship that spread to the cars?

Wonder if any of these were E-cars (with batteries)?
To: pepsionice
Good question. A quick search shows VW doesn’t have any all electric cars yet, they are still in development, and Porsche only has one all electric model. Still could be plenty of hybrids on board.

Odds are there were at least a few electrics/hybrids on the ship.

I think all the VW brands have plug-in electric hybrids.
