My understanding is Parliament can kill it any time. If looks like it gets that close would trudeau risk dissolving parliament for another election ?

I don’t think so because trudeau would assuredly lose the next election if he called one. He only garnered 19% support of the voting public in the last election and that support has fallen. I’ve been meaning to review the oddities of an electoral system that could give us such an unpopular PM. I’m sure it has to do with the major population centres (Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver) being so liberal and having so many seats/ridings that they overpower the rest of the country. However, I don’t know the exact breakdown of seats by geographic area so I’m only 95% sure about that.

I had wondered if there was an electoral college type system, so the cities wouldn’t outweigh the smaller towns and farms and ranches.
