This is getting a little weird…

Yup. First, a heart attack or stroke, who knows. Then a bump on the head and bleeding on the brain. Now, the kind of skull fractures you'd expect from a baseball bat attack or a car crash. Who knows what happened. But I agree the family has a right to keep it to themselves if they choose.
