I think it is worse for somebody to lie about it. What sort of sick, deranged person thinks a story like this is going to win him favors?
Disclaimer. As a kid we used to spear carp in the local creek just for fun (legal). Would toss them into the woods (probably not legal and wasteful). Once in awhile we would leave a bunch on the front steps of a friend as a joke.
I tend to agree; lying about this is worse. Of course, this would get him some cheers from a Leftist crowd. They are sick people with whom union is undesirable and impossible.
