No real surprise from the same city that gave Breonna Taylor's mom 12 MILLION dollars. We live just south of Louisville, our hometown, and it hurts like hell to see what it has become. We sat and watched BLM/Breonna Taylor marches through the city. Watched a livestream where protesters actually tried to break into my husband's work (he worked at Metrosafe as a 911 calltaker, he's since left there and went to a smaller town. MUCH happier. NO, they didn't get in, but STILL) Watched another livestream where officers were shot at and heard them scream 'SHOTS FIRED OFFICERS HIT' (two cops shot that night, thankfully non-life-threatening injuries)
Yes KY is solid red (went for Trump handily in both 2016 and 2020) but as someone on here mentioned, Louisville has been getting more and more blue as time goes on. Current Mayor Greg Fischer is on his last term (THANK. GOD.) and I can't wait to see him leave, but I'm not holding my breath on his replacement being any better.
