COMPETES legislation, passed by the House and now before the Senate, is major Green legislation. It contains a little know amendment to shut down the importation of 20,000 animals into the US, barring a hand full of so called “popular” critters. Senator Rubio, FL, proposes to put all animals imported under Interior and create a very limited White List of approved species to be determined by those with greatest popularity.
I am not a tree hugger. I am not a dog lover. I don’t think the “endangered species” have rights under the Constitution.
Why are people getting upset about the Rubio in bed with the “dogs-and-cats-only” club?
I know that some things are not the purview of Congress. But this is just Rubio making a fool of himself.
