What I do find tragically interesting is the contrast of POW treatment by Japan in Russo-Japanese War 1905 (Had many Russian POWs) & WWI - Japan was on the Allied side and captured 5,000 Germans.
Their treatment of prisoners-of-war seemed to have been exemplary then.
