A military dictatorship vs. the Muslim Brotherhood? Both are bad but one will spread terrorism. If we pump up Egypt with aid and weapons, if the regime fails all of that will go to the Islamists. If we don’t help the regime at all, it could more easily fail. I’m not an expert on Egypt, it sounds like there are no good options.
It’s a strange one.
They tried elections and the people voted in a civilian government that basically collapsed not long after.
Dumbocracy is not always the answer.
Some places are just ruled a certain way.
Although , I’m disturbed to hear some of this regimes particular cruelty i.e torturing kids...
