I didn’t think France was a large enough country to build 14 reactors.

France currently has 56 reactors , 17 of them are down with once in a lifetime technical issues steming from a bad weld design. They at one point got up to 85% of their total power from nuclear energy with a closed fuel cycle as they recycle all their spent fuel into more fuel or PU239 to be used to kickstart fast reactors which humanity will need very soon. Natural uranium resources for a once through throw away cycle will be depleted in less than 40 years if the world doubles nuclear energy. At that point you have to go breed reactors or mine the oceans for uranium. Less than 1% of the energy in natural uranium is used in a USA PWR reactor on a once through throw away cycle compare that to 99% in a fast reactor with reprocessing technology Americans invented and perfected in the 1950s&60s the first reactor to put power on the grid was a fsst reactor with integrated processing of fuel. We used to lead the world Carter thag traitor ended that and has crippled the American nuclear industry every since. I personally cannot wait to piss on his grave.
