I still fail to see the sense behind Honda forsaking the F1 engine biz. They just won the F1 title, that could sell a lot of Hondas if they wanted to make something of the victory.

Yeah, I know, gas engines, woke overlords and such.

Maybe Red Bull should get into the auto mfg biz.

One of those “Had I known” moments...

Saw a show on Modern Marvels the other day about big machines. The machine was the hoist for landing and launching mega-boats. They had a Boat that was going back in the water, a 600 passenger ride. Then they said that the owner was Larry Ellison founder and president of Oracle.

I heard that name and it clicked way back in My little peabrain, after a few seconds of Brain Archives it sunk in.

Back in the 80’s when I had my Jaguar & Rolls Royce shop I got a call from a Friend that worked for Dell and he was with a client and asked if I could help ? I said if I can of course I will. He told Me that the Driver’s window was stuck open. I told him to come over and let’s get it inside and We’ll figure it out. In the middle of the monsoon rain storms that were in the forecast all week.

Because the dealer couldn’t fix the window that day or even store the car inside until they were able to repair it. The dealership was going to let it sit outside.

I gained work on a mid 70’s Corvette Convertible as well.

Thanks for the post and ping.

Larry Ellison comes off as a very good guy. Oracle has grown and grown and it can do many, many things.

Larry has a ranch in my neck of the woods and a man I used to know well* was Larry’s co-pilot for a number of years, Larry being the pilot.

A man named Greg Gianforte started a Customer Response Management (CRM) company, hired Steve Daines as a VP who hired my previous director (at another Tech company) as a Director at RightNow Technologies (RNT). She designed a training/certification position for BBB333 and I began working for RNT.

It was a fun gig and when my training/certification position had certified all of our employees I was hand-picked to work on a project overseen by VP Daines.

Eventually I went to work in the University system as an Adjunct Professor.

Oracle purchased RNT and it’s a big campus here in SW Montana.

Greg Gianforte is the Governor of Montana and Steve Daines is our Junior Senator.

Oracle’s CRM team works worldwide with an enormous customer base.

The above article makes me like Red Bull even more.

*I write that I used to know him well as we were fairly close. Long story short I was subponeaded by the FBI to testify in Federal Court at the sentencing trial of his son-in-law (whom I had worked with at another company). My testimony changed the Judge from ‘deviating down’ (on the Federal minimum sentencing guidelines and letting him walk) to having him serve 18 months in Leavenworth.

Needless to say we weren’t so close after that.
