I used to go to a few Lexington Legends games. I kept expecting the teams to have someone who was hitting, say .365 against A-ball pitching and ready to move up. I never saw them. Most of the players were hitting around .260 or so.

The quality in low A ball is not good. Yet I find the effort and attitude of the players make a MiLB more enjoyable than watching the Reds.

While the Lexington Legends prepare for a new season of baseball come spring, they’ll now be joined by a second team this year.Second team? I would think that the article meant that the Legends will be replaced by whatever is the name of the new mascot.

We have a new field near me in Utica called Jimmy John's Field which is home to four teams in the United Shore Professional Baseball League.
It's basically a league created to allow college baseball players a venue to showcase their abilities in the hopes of getting signed by a major league team.
It's a super nice, family friendly stadium with reasonable ticket, beer and hotdog prices.
The current teams are the Birmingham Bloomfield Beavers
Eastside Diamond Hoppers
Utica Unicorns
Westside Woolly Mammoths
