If they didn’t, I’d be shocked. An example is the ROC team of pair skaters that fell completely down flat, almost injuring both, and they got up and won the competition over the US that had a error free skate.
Ever watch the yellow light on the skating scoring board used to review a move? China and Russia get very few and are on for no more than a few seconds. Anyone else is left on for 15 or more seconds while the move is absolutely scrutinized.
No question olympic scoring has been fallacy for many lifetimes.

But yes regarding the judging. That comes with the territory of more artistic sports unfortunately. In 2014, figure skater Kim Yuna was TOTALLY robbed of her gold (she was technically perfect, and artistically just above and beyond everyone else’s league at the time) - due to rigged judging and the Olympics happened to be in Sochi at the time.
Yup. There’s a heart behind it but at the end of the day it’s a calculated American style business move.

A number of reasons for that:
1. No one wants to watch the Genocide Olympics;
2. The food the athletes are being fed is terrible, nearly unedible per all the press reports I've read;
3. All the complaints about the sleeping quarters, etc.;
4. NBC puts all the "good" events on Peacock and you have to be able to stream them to watch them live;
5. The reruns on NBC have 50 minutes of talking for every 10 minutes of actual Olympics events.
No one wants to see some idiot on NBC blather on, and on, and on, talk about "back-stories" and other bullshit when they're tuning in to see the actual OLYMPICS.
EFF NBC. EFF CHINA. EFF the "Olympics." That's why they're down 40% OR MORE.
