It’s a good thing so many Australians submitted to vaccines so that only 4/5 COVID-19 deaths are vaccinated deaths. Can you imagine how bad it would be without vaccines?

The more foundational question is why does this vaxx have such an incredible number of breakthrough cases? Nobody talks about breakthrough cases of measles or yellow fever, because those vaccines actually work.

Don't get me wrong, I am anti-vax MANDATE, especially for younger people who have a natural 99.9% survival rate, and a 0% known long-term side effects from taking the vax.

But at my advanced years, I'd rather be vaxxed and gain an additional 25% protection, than remain unvaxxed.

I think everyone should be free to make their own choices.

My greatest fear is that in 15-20 years we start having a huge spike in cancers, premature heart disease, leukemias, or something else equally horrifyingly deadly among the 25-40 year old population.

Me too, I am completely against mandates and do not believe children should receive the vaccine. What people do not understand about these charts, is that their are so many cases because all but Western Australia opened it borders and the Omicron variant hit Australia just as it did the USA. So that is why all of a sudden there are so many cases. But man FReepers do not understand statistics. Since 95% of the people over 16 (and some from 12), have been vaccinated, these statistics actually show that the unvaccinated are dying at a much higher rate than the vaccinated and the unvaccinated also have a higher rate of being hospitalised.

Your are correct, if far fewer people had been vaccinated, then the death rate would be much higher, according to these statistics, at least double the rate.

Well, I don’t know if I agree that it would be nil, but I agree it would be much lower if they could use all the other types of treatments. Lagevrio® (molnupiravir) and Paxlovid® (nirmatrelvir + ritonavir) are approved and can be used in Australia, but Ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine are not and should be used. The reason it wouldn’t be nil, is that most of these people who die from Covid, might die anyway as many are gravely ill and have a terminal disease.
