Karen Chen was strong in the women's free skate for the United States in the figure skating team event, finishing fourth to lock up the silver medal.

Team USA skaters this year = LOVELY. No American female skater does quads, but I find their routines overall more enjoyable to watch. The technique is there, plus the artistry, maturity... and that unpredictability element. The music choices, choreography, not to mention costumes. Karen's mom designed hers. Lovely all around. So excited to Mariah and the others compete later.

Hi yes this is for the TEAM event which includes men, women, pairs, and ice dancers. Russia won gold and USA did super well in clinching Silver…but it was actually Karen’s stumbles in her first routine a few days ago (the short program) that put her and the rest of the team lower in the rankings…Silver is amazing. Russia is considered unbeatable but, you just never know what can happen at the Olympics!

Oh man this is gonna piss off the CCP big time. A Chinese-American woman betrays us and skates for them—and falls on her ass twice. But the silver goes to another Chinese-American who remained loyal to the U.S.A.? God help that poor traitor now. They’re gonna send her to live with the Uighurs.

I think the music she skated to in the free program above was Chinese. Hmm perhaps a nod and homage to all the pre-communistic beauty of the culture. Glorious performance all around.

China made up for it with the US men. Both are of Asian descent and after watching just now, neither were skating in the short program. I’m watching on a sub Reddit stream with no commentators so can’t say what happened.

I’m not big on China but I wasn’t big on last Summer because of OUR treasonous athletes - or so I thought. Then I found many of them patriotic and loving. The soccer team stunk (girls/lesbos) but otherwise it was nice.

So if they’re that good now in the Winter, I’ll support them even “in China”!
