In the mid-60s, visitors to the Portland Zoo were allowed to feed the animals. I recall seeing some guy try to hand a piece of food directly to one of the gibbons, whereupon the ape stripped the guy’s wristwatch from him and took off into the enclosure. It was pretty funny.
