I’ve been reading about all the soccer players (and others) collapsing, not sure if its real. The winter Olympics are underway and I’m sure the athletes are all vaccinated. Anyone expect any olympians to collapse on the world stage. Frankly I don’t think we will see this.

Yes, punchline is a single word.

It’s an interesting development from the last half-millenium known as a “compound word”. That means that two words are combined together and become a single word.

Other examples include: notebook, bookstore, fireman, and waistcoat. Indeed (another one) there are literally hundreds of compound words, many not in common use but extant nonetheless (yet another one!).
