I don’t see a problem with it.
Yep. She’s not cussing, fussing or anything. She sounds happy.
Maybe “professional” means sounding miserable?

I agree with you. The message was light, and good-humored. It would not be appropriate for an office, but it was just fine for a home. If a prospective employer doesn’t get that, that’s on him.
She was cheerful and upbeat. She was not cursing and while I had a problem with understanding her speech at the end I wasn’t put off. HT was calling to let her know she didn’t get the job. They made the decision before they picked up the phone to call her. They didn’t make the decision once they heard her message. It was nice of them to let her know her phone message was unprofessional but now she has “evidence” that they are racist even though they are not. And they will pay through the nose. They should never have said a thing.
I became the oldest employee at my company (by 10 years) when I started back in July. We have several different entities, to include a coffee shop and video production company. The latter is hugely profitable, run by a fine young man under 30 with 40+ million YouTube subscribers over several platforms.
We have a laid back atmosphere, and great working environment. Most employees are 30 and under who take responsibility for their work. They bring energy to their work which helps me out too.
My boss hires off Indeed, so we don’t call, just email.
Yeah that hiring manager maybe needs a review.
If they want me to use a phone with their preferred voicemail response, they can provide me with a company-paid phone or pay my phone bill.
It's not part of my job to supply my employer with free equipment.
There’s nothing wrong with it for friends and family.
But if you are expecting business calls I would certainly use something more professional.
How can people not understand this?
When I was young, my voicemail was the famous sound clip from WW2 movies of incoming MP40 fire. Between the burst, I frantically yelled “ Can’t talk now!...Kinda busy!”
Yeah, immature but pretty harmless for a PERSONAL phone
No obscenities
I’ve heard worse in music played while on-holc
Not likely to be her work phone
I don’t either.
