When omicron came on the scene, I had a relative rush out and get her booster because of all the “dangerous new variants out there”.
Canceled any events involving the unclean er. ah….. unvaxxed. No family get togethers with the unvaxxed until summer when it could be either outside or ALL the windows in the house could be opened for good ventilation.
I just couldn’t live like that. Or with someone like that.
This incredible fear of our environment is hysteria that’s for sure. The world is full of dangers, including viruses, bacteria, fungi and toxic chemicals that we can’t see or smell. Always has been.
Generally mankind does pretty good in spite of it all. Generations of common sense, miraculous immune systems and never-ending progress in identifying and neutralizing the dangers has made life pretty livable. Better now than ever.
Yet some seem to think it’s rational to live in abject terror that death is around the next corner. It might be which is all the more reason to enjoy life IMO. Constant fear of the boogeyman is no fun at all.
