Rent?! Why rent at all? I owned a house free and clear before I was out of my teens. Find a fsbo or a dirt cheap house in a tax sale. Flip it asap. Then take the profits and repeat the process.

Don’t be tempted to get credit cards.
Don’t take out student loans. You want a degree, go to work for Walmart, they will pay for it 100 percent.
Don’t lend cash. Give it, donate it — just don’t lend it.
