Sounds like the spell worked out as intended.

Why not billions? Or even trillions? I think she should be the world’s first trillionaire for all that she suffered. I mean there are people being tortured for their beliefs all over the world: kidnapped, tortured, imprisoned, beaten, robbed, raped, murdered. But I mean, come on man, a witches hat on your desk and disparaging remarks? That’s gotta be worth trillions.

What would happen if someone went to work for a company they didn’t particularly care for, and paid other employees under the table to create a hostile work environment such as this woman faced, and then cashed in at the company’s (and investors’) expense?

I can hardly think of an easier way to make millions.

I doubt the things she is alleging came out of thin air, i.e. that she did nothing to bring on any of the slings and arrows.

"Not now, Stacey!"

I’m sure she’s as innocent as the day is long.

A summer’s day, or a winter day?

She saw an opportunity to make some money no doubt. Imagine what ‘damages’ she initially asked for!

Risky hiring woman....better off with men as I see it. Especially women who require special treatment. This gal needs to learn how to deal with life in a mixed sex culture....at 50 she should have already known.

I understand she discovered she wasn’t paid as much as the men she was working with....so she had an issue with that as well.

Read a few other articles on this matter....sounds like she complained she wasn’t making as much as the men she was working with.

If you read other articles about her case then you’d understand why Freepers are saying what they are on this thread.

She was up front with her qualifications...

(I can say that. I was a businesswoman for decades. She should only know the depth of harassment most of us—the first Boomer generation— put up with to attempt to try for equal opportunities at work. If we had half such settlements, I could have retired in my late 20s from the contemptuous stunts.)

The hat was just the tip of the iceberg. The harassment must have been pretty bad to support an award of this size.

It's entirely possible that the reporter had a bias in presenting the story.

But her photos don't convey the look of a secure, confident person; so maybe she knuckled under to the nasty snark the first few times, and it became a downward spiral. It appears she didn't sit down and think about how to leverage in her situation other than by trying to cling to her sexy blond cheerleader look.

As stated above, I was in the corporate shark world for many years as a little redneck whose husband went to Vietnam and fell apart when he came back. I never wanted to work outside the home, but my life more or less demanded it, and I had to learn what to do and how to survive. It was brutal. Many times I could have sued, but I knew I would be radioactive to future employers ever after if I had.
