I don’t know about Washington state, but the paper mills near lake Erie in the 70s pumping out yellow smoke were rank.
P.S Did you know the state of washington was founded by a Caring and conservative Black man named George W Bush who was going to settle in Oregon but they kicked him out cause they were Racist ?
iirc in Bush Prarie (named after him) there is one of the oldest apple trees in that state
Paper mills are all the same when it comes to the stink and smoke - I think the ones on the Olympic Peninsula were all forced to install mitigation systems so the smoke is no longer yellow. but the liquor ponds still stink.
I was under the impression, wrongly I guess, that WA state was once part of the Oregon Territories and was separated in the Monticello Convention in 1889.
Never heard of the Bush guy in that connection. Didn’t he later go on to be the 43rd President of the US?
