They are called the Dutchmen because the school was originally Dutch and founded when New York was a Dutch colony. It is a boys school. The material, at least in math and science, is generally way above honors classes at regular public schools. People literally make 7 figure donations to get their kids into places like that. You may need to do that if you are not in the social register or have huge connections. Most graduates go to top colleges, but not at the same level as 20 or 70 years ago.
