We’ve begged you, Taco Bell, to bring back the Mexican Pizza. We’ve put our heart and soul on the line sharing our love for the item that was once a staple on your menu. We’ve even tried replicating its glory at home. But still, we can’t help but hope, wish, and pray that the Mexican Pizza is coming back, keeping a close eye on every little hint you drop that maybe, just maybe, its return is imminent. Well, Taco Bell, we now have a new warrior in this fight, one who will make you sit up and take notice: Dolly Parton.
In an interview with Insider, the country music superstar and living embodiment of the word “icon” sang the praises of fast food, specifically Taco Bell where she likes to order soft-shell supreme tacos, rice and beans with mild sauce, and, once upon a time, Mexican Pizzas. When asked if she thought Taco Bell should bring the latter back, she immediately replied, “I think they should!” You hear that, Taco Bell?!

High on my list of one I’d like a cup of coffee with. She’s smart, talented, a very good heart and a wonderful sense of humor.
Yes!! Taco John’s!!!
I really miss their food! (It doesn’t exist in Washington.)
what I never understood in TX all the cooks in the Chinese places are Mexican, and all the cooks in the Mexican places are Chinese wtf?
if there is one thing i like better than bad food, is lots of it.
agreed
Mexican Pizza was the only reason to go to Taco Bell. Awesome junkiness!
I am seeing it Split Screen style, and I’m laughing!
That would be a good topic for a brave stand up Comic to bring up.
Remember also that it was Jimya Carter that made them turn off the gas flame on the patio.
I think that would be a solid marketing campaign slogan.
It’s 2 AM, we know why your here... :)
better not be no damned smart ass white boy!! LOL
Once upon a time my best friend drew her blood.
She was a bit intimidated, and Dolly, sensing that discomfort put her at ease with 'Hey, I fart too!'
Smart, talented, a very good heart, a wonderful sense of humor, down to earth and not full of herself!
Stephi's only other comment?
She has really tiny feet!
I really miss Stephi.
Dolly is well known to be a very clever businesswoman.
Maybe she’s name dropping Taco Bell because she just so happens to have written a few new commercial jingles that would be perfect for a Tace Bell radio or online Ad.
Even if you are talented as this Lady, you have to know how to recognize a marketing opportunity when it’s staring you in the face. Dolly knows this.
**Elvis wanted to sing her song “I Will Always Love You”, but didn’t get to because his manager demanded half the publishing rights, and Dolly refused the offer.
Yep, and hoping they didn’t use old oil—that ruins it.
I watched a European release version of it years back. The winning restaurant was Pizza Hut. Threw me for a loop after the original Taco Bell version. Reasoning behind the change is that Europeans would know pizza, but not tacos.
Agree.
I had forgotten that was one of my old favorites until you reminded me.
Good to chat with another sophisticated gourmet here.
Picture of Mexican pizza...
I remember it as having two tostadas with the bottom layer of ground beef and the top layer of beans.
Maybe I had too many pintos n’ cheese and large Dr.Peppers along with it and it dazzled my senses.
Dolly Parton is a lovable, beautiful woman but she’s a bit too leftist for my taste.
$10 of boneless short ribs, $4 stack of tortillas, and maybe $6 on onions, jalapeños, cilantro, etc. and you can make a fantastic meal for about five people for $20 that is far, far superior.
