NEW YORK - Cheslie Kryst, the winner of the 2019 Miss USA pageant, has reportedly died after jumping from a building in Midtown Manhattan.
According to TMZ, the NYPD responded to a 9-1-1 call at Kryst's apartment building on 42nd Street at around 7:30 a.m. Sunday morning.
Upon arrival, police found the 30-year-old lawyer and host on the entertainment news show "Extra" dead at the scene.
Police say they believe Kryst, who lived on the building's 9th floor, jumped to her death.
Early Sunday morning, Kryst had posted a photo of herself to Instagram with the caption, "May this day bring you rest and peace."
"In devastation and great sorrow, we share the passing of our beloved Cheslie," Kryst's family said in a statement. "Her great light was one that inspired others around the world with her beauty and strength. She cared, she loved, she laughed and she shined. Cheslie embodied love and served others

From the article... her last instagram photo had the words “May this day bring you rest and peace”. I hope that for her... rest and peace. I don’t know anything about her history, life, medical/psychological issues, etc... but I do think someone throwing themselves off a 9th floor building at 7:30 in the morning is is need of a prayer from me.
Unless she took her morning ‘hit’ on some drug that set her flying.
Then there’s a lot of projection going on.
No “unless” at all.. even if she took a morning “hit”... then I still wish her rest and peace. I was probably raised a little bit differently than some. We were taught the saying, “There but for the Grace of God go I”. This simply was a saying that we may not understand or be in someone’s position but to feel sympathy even with our lack of understanding the “why”. Not sure if I am explaining it correctly but I do wish her peace.
Well you miss the point about Jeremiah begging God to end his life as opposed to Jeremiah ending his own life by his own hand.
Her Instagram has the BLM emoji. Good riddance. I reserve my empathy for the deserving.

No, it really is dismissive to assume that she committed suicide because she lacked religion, particularly building it on the thin evidence that she was a liberal. Many liberals are Christian. They simply focus more on Jesus as compassionate to the poor than on Jesus as a conduit to personal responsibility.
The media and Dems put incredible pressure on Blacks to succeed. Whether you're a NFL quarterback or a model and then they over emphasize your accomplishments and put even greater pressure on you. What we need is a color blind society, not a race based Dem society.
“Many liberals are Christian.”
I’ve never met one. Although there are people who put on funny clothes and pretend they have some vague association with Christianity. But even there...I’ve never met one in the flesh.
Unbelievably sad.
I’m trying to make the point that ALL is not categorically well with Jesus and faith. The dogmatic notion of “all you need is Jesus and all will be fine” is flawed.“
No it isn’t.
People are flawed, sometimes tragically. This woman made a decision and followed through. The life she built on some assumed media model was empty. Ok, millions have made that mistake. Superficialities can fool the best of us. I know people who suffered to a degree that they begged God to kill them but soldiered on for decades because they believed in God.
People as accomplished and intelligent as this woman find themselves in her position alll the time. They start out mistakenly believing that if they accomplish A B and C their life will just happen. When it doesn’t they don’t climb up to the roof and throw themselves off. If she had invited Jesus into that emptiness He would have no infallibly filled it because THAT is what He does.
No there is more to her trials than she is letting us in on. There is something she couldn’t face and couldn’t face life without. People just don’t destroy themselves because they made erroneous assumptions that we all have, to some degree, made.
God have mercy on her.
And yet there are many suicide prevention programs that are specifically targeted to Christians. 65% of Americans identify as Christians. There were 47,511 suicides in the US in 2019 (pre Covid). So, 30,822 of those were Christian. That's over 84 Christians per day that take their own life. Now that's raw data and maybe there are some skews in certain non-Christian groups, but we are still talking about lots of Christians.
God knows the heart. A person in extremis who’s asking honestly will be answered. We may call ourself Christian but if we don’t act the part it doesn’t otherwise buy us anything. I suspect, as I said, that her life was a shade or two more complicated than we can see. If you plead to God with reservation, forget it.
Yet Jeremiah didn’t, many Christians testify that they reached that point but they didn’t, that God helped them....but that poor unfortunate woman did it, having no God in her life.
And Job wanted the day he was born to be erased from time, but God kept him going, too!
Life sometimes sucks and God sometimes is the only one we can cry to even when it doesn’t change things right away.
I’m sorry for that poor woman and even for Christians who just reach that breaking point and pull the trigger. Each story is an individual story and no two stories will be alike. That is why I trust God to weigh each case with justice but with mercy should he find the circumstances justify mercy and should he hear the Son pleading with the Father softly for this one or that one...”No Father, do not send this one and that one to the lake of Fire; not this one and and that one this is why...!”(as Christ shows him the names of “this one and that one” written in the Lamb’s book of Life!”
Ahh.... slinking around to throw stones at the Christians again? You tend to be dismissive of Christians in general, so it’s not surprising you would project such dismissiveness onto them!
There’s far too many people committing suicide these days as if it’s an acceptable way to deal with whatever issues cause someone to do this to themselves. But I would agree that those who know the Lord likely can handle much better than those who don’t.
She was duped by the left. Militant leftism will get you in the end one way or another. It’s sad but could be a learning lesson.
The lime-light is a powerful addiction. For many people, one 15-minute hit and they are hooked for life. The only known cure for narcissism is 6 foot social distancing, in the vertical towards hell.
