Whatever victories wokeism may be enjoying now, they're not going to last.
In a recent article, N.S. Lyons takes a sardonic yet, in this writer's view, overly respectful assessment of the present and future success and prospects for wokeism in American culture. On the one hand, he perceives this woke subculture (which he perceives as the majority culture) as a most unsatisfactory historical development, but at the same time, he sees it as the culmination of over 50 years of dogged cultural Marxism having worked its way into positions of power in our culture. He posits that the cultural opposition does not have the patience for a long-term struggle to take back the culture that would be parallel to the "long march" urged and followed by Antonio Gramsci and his followers that has characterized the leftist reconstruction that wokeism represents.
Despite this negative report, the tone of Lyons's article is neither grim nor sad. Rather, it is a pleasant, detached account that claims to "accept" the reality he finds, which is most unsatisfactory and clearly destructive of the norms of Western civilization.
Lyons's article is well written, but he does miss a few things. He misses that the unprincipled movement of the wokesters plants the seeds of its own destruction. Thus, a comparable fifty-year march through our institutions really will not be necessary for the woke message of life-transforming narcissism to collapse. The pathetic destructive dance of AOC, Ilhan Omar, and other Squad members (including the fierce-looking Rashida Tlaib) and their ilk will most assuredly turn on each other and gobble, gobble, gobble. We already can see the beginnings of the self-destruct button of narcissism working in this woke subculture.
The Cuomos are out. Matt Lauer is out. Harvey "Fat Mouth" Weinstein is out.

I hope he’s right; the problem is that the communists (and that is exactly what they are) are destroying the educational system. Get rid of standardized tests, grades, eliminate advancement by merit and what will you have?? Substandard doctors, scientists, engineers - the people who built America and put us at an advantage over the rest of the world will be pushed to the bottom and mediocrities rise to the top. Don’t know how we can fix the decades long march of the Reds through our educational institutions, period.
At its core, Wokeness demands that white parents sacrifice their children’s future for the benefit of the “marginalized”.
The realization of this by white families, would be the spark that sets off the bonfire.
It is interesting that on the one hand, liberals are fanatic in the idea of non conformity to societies norms (Marriage between one man and one woman, a man is a man and a woman is a woman, Freedom is a gift from God, etc.), and a ferocity about conforming to the State (Mandates, etc.). It seems to be complete opposites in direction, so I agree, they will tear themselves apart. My first thought was like the experience of boot camp (way before the current experience), where we spent the first 4 weeks of tearing down any individualism that we had, and replacing it with ‘groupthink’ of the Company Commander.

The “woke” are removing the the thin veil of civility which protects our society. By changing the definition of words, by declaring that all civil norms are “racist” or the result of “white supremacist”, by rewarding riots and wholesale theft they are leaving themselves open to unpunished retribution.
The subjugated people of France in the 1700s overcame their fear of the King and revolted. Once began there was no law of heaven or earth to stop their blood lust.

Since its inception, Marxism has always failed in practice. It does so because it doesn't recognize the importance of human nature in the actions of virtually everyone. Humans simply don't work hard when they are required to give the products of their work to slackers. It then leads to corrupt despots running the required bureaucracies. The only variations are in how much damage is done before it is destroyed.
So do atomic bombs.
I doubt that. The way the Whites are aid and abetting their extermination. Self hating White clans. Abortion. BLM movements. You name it.
Bingo. That is the point. All collectivist programs first destroy all opponents and then the internal competition.
If you wait for the woke to self destruct, your children will be long dead.

You hit the nail on the head. The other side is willing to fight for what they believe in and do so on a daily basis.
We on the other hand see this happening and do nothing. Some of us can’t even be bothered to vote every couple of years.
We brag about being armed to our teeth, yet are very passive. In a way all those weapons act a security blanket and as another excuse to do nothing until it’s too late to do anything.
Small comfort. Before that happens it will have destroyed everything else.
The left is busy fighting a revolution even when they are in power.
The right these days is just busy defending leftist-run institutions.
