R is the “reproduction rate.”
R0 means that the typical infected person infects no other people.
R 1 means that the typical infected person infects one other person.
R 2 means that the typical infected person infects two other people.
Anything above 1, and cases are growing.
At 2, they’re doubling.
At 3, they’re tripling.
Why is R at 1 a big deal?
When Bannon and his crew were the only people taking about this in early 2020, he had on a former Mil-Wonk from Fort Drucker in this arena and stated he felt this thing would have an R of 2.6.
I don't know if Covi truly obtained an R of that, but it was enough to scare da-bajezzus out of you.
