"Gettin' Dirty" - Rock and Roll like it was meant to be performed w/ no apologies.
I was at Bradleys on Palm Beach one night back in the day when girls danced on the bar and Kennedy's roamed free. It was Rod's birthday and he plopped $5K for everyone's bar tab. Then Rachel Hunter danced on the bar in a mini skirt. I saw things I shouldn't have seen.
I think I was listening to the Partridge Family and the Osmonds then.
He was sort of a force of nature. Try to stop him.
Damn That must’ve been good.
I was sitting at the bar and we just had our first beers. Guy next to us had a tab 10 times ours. I felt jipped until Rachel got up on the bar.
His voice ie reminiscent of a frog with defective vocal chords.
He sure sold a lot of records.
Never bought one, never will.
Good for you.
Awww - the Texas keyword/blog/mall cops don’t like The Faces. Not “new country” enough for them I guess. Oh well.

Ha! I read that to my wife. She said that’s probably as good of a description as she’s ever heard. She never could understand with that voice all the attraction he got, and the guy was thin-lipped and too short. (Her dad and brothers all exceded 6’2” in their prime. I met her specs slipping in at 1/8th” shy of 6’2” lol). She says it seemed he just sang about sex outside of marriage. That’s probably true.
She’s an old fashioned girl, that told me while we were dating, that the man she would marry would love her enough to wait until wedding night. (The wait was worth it, to say the least).
Good for the both of you, what God intended.
The venue was the Hollywood Paladium, which is a relatively small venue 3-4,000. The show was great, the boys got drunk(as did most of the crowd). Multiple encores. Several guest appearances added to the evening.
Many years later I saw a list: top ten best ever concerts. That show was on the list! Great night.
I’m genuinely not knocking you. Music is different for everyone. We all like what we like. To each his own. Just putting it out there.
Jealous.
Gasoline Alley, The Rod Stewart Album, First Step (Small Faces w/ Rod in and Marriott out) are three of my favorites. Lot of great songs.
Absolutely. Music is subjective, never meant to demean anyone. I just don’t like the clown, that’s free speech.
Me I love it. I probably have 20 albums and CD’s by those three.
